      Scratches come from bad usage and you can’t use that as argument against CDs. If you keep your CDs in their case and handle them carefully, they will not scratch. But even totally abused CDs are quite resilient - I have some burned CDs in my car that are just flying around without cases in scorching heat with over 50°C in the summer and freezing temperatures in the winter and they are working.

      Your tapes will also suffer if you abuse them like that.

        Ok. But it’s very easy to scratch it. It’s difficult to damage a cassette, imo. Maybe if you fiddle around with the wheels and drag out “cord inside”. Idk about sound quality though, Wich is probably the main reason everyone did the switch?
