The bullshit exchange aside, I want all talks between world and country leaders to be televised in the open like this.

Yup, I’m definitely looking into upgrading to a proper hood fan in the near future.
Our new-build house came with a gas stove+oven. Our overhead microwave does vent to the outside of the house so hopefully it helps a bit. The worst part is the oven’s vents face the front, so the fumes literally go up to your face if you’re standing in front of it. So when we use the oven, we try to keep distance and hope the the microwave vent sucks up as much fumes as possible.
I’d buy one if they brought the price down to $20.
I feel bad for wasting water so I stand in the far end and try to start wetting my hair.
I wish people stumbled upon my music accidentally and stuck around.
The information age of the internet grew too fast before humans could get an actual sense of the repercussions, and it was just a matter of time for the greedy people in power all over the world to use it to their advantage.
I’ve been happy with Mullvad. Good no-log policy, audited regularly, and their servers run on RAM. No port forwarding though, as others mentioned.
The irony here is I used to live in a dense megacity, although not a developed country, and moved to a city with urban sprawl and no public transportation. I hope to still eventually get to my ideal living environment, but it’s not happening in the near future.
I forgot which airline it was (Emirates maybe?), but they gave us stickers that you can put by your headrest to indicate that you want to be woken up during meal or snack service. It was great because you don’t have to worry about missing the food.
I’m an urban person, so I want to live in a dense city where there is great public transportation and you can easily walk to essential places (i.e. grocery store). I also prefer indoor spaces over outdoor, so a city where there are a lot of indoor activities. Places like Singapore and Tokyo.
Yes that’s exactly my setup at work. I’m part of a global team so it’s only once or twice a year were enough people travel to one office location that it becomes an “event” of visitors in the office for a week.
2 night outs in a week is too much IMO. At my work, the maximum is 1 dinner+team building event in the middle of the week (never Friday because people have families to go home to for the weekend). We usually try to go to a place where an activity can be done and the place has food and drinks as well, so it’s 2 birds with 1 stone. But to answer your question, any respectable professional environment should accept a simple “sorry, I can’t go” answer without any further questions. Any simple excuse should also be fine, like “I’m tired from all the meetings today and will retire early to get some rest, since we still have a ton of meetings tomorrow as well”.
I’m actually a fan of big screens, HOWEVER they should be limited to being an actual “infotainment” system only. All essential controls should be buttons, switches, and dials.
