Elon Musk clearly thinks the same way, and both Musk and Trump crave the respect they will never earn, so they double down on their idiot edgelord/bully methods. The White House media office will be headed by Trump sycophants, who will see this exchange through MAGA eyes. They see a strong man where everyone else sees a pathetic manchild.

This is what happens when your leaders are too stupid to understand diplomacy. It’s also what happens when they’re working for the interests of Putin.

They’re living in denial that their country is run by Nazis and they need to resist Nazis. They still think if they point out that the Nazis are being unreasonable they will realize the error of their ways and stop it.

Given that Musk is now the king of conflicts of interest, who can eliminate whole government departments and replace them with contracts for his own companies, this seems very likely.

I don’t believe it’s most. If you add those who support Trump to those who are too indifferent to bother to vote against him, the people who will oppose him are in a minority. And even some of that minority is “don’t rock the boat” Democrats who will go along with the status quo, even as it lurches to the right. Others are scared and won’t do anything to help. Trump’s favorability rating bumps along at around 45-52% these days, and Americans have a strong tendency to rally behind the troops and the President even in needless and cruel wars, and they’re suckers for propaganda. So I don’t believe a majority are on Canada’s side in any meaningful way. Americans will fall in line, and Canada has to defend itself against this aggression.

It’s a first move. It’s to show people they can act together. It’s not supposed to have a massive impact on its own. The same with protests. These are ways to build momentum for a popular resistance.

It’s an odd thought that there must be people out there who consider the Telegraph worth paying for. Crazy world.
