Because there’s a drastic disparity between Republicans/Democrats, and (not illustrated in this pdf alone), the level of support among Republics dropped massively within a year.
it’s just that no one had the balls to do it because naturally, nukes are frightening
Whoaaa Nellie, I lost you here.
Defending your territory is one thing, but the last thing Europe wants is a hot nuclear war with Russia… EU would definitely lose.
That’s mostly what AI Porn land is now, as animation is easier and hence fictional characters are easier. Trainers also tend to exclude real people from base models.
Lina Inverse getting boinked by Donald Duck could be a thing.
You can 100% already do this, with high quality, locally. Generate an image with PonyXL (and Lora’s if it doesn’t get the characters quite perfect), do img2vid with Hunyuan or this.
The catch is that it’s all unreasonably user unfriendly to set up, and most online UIs are remarkably shit. Basically AI land just needs a few more “integrators” to plug this stuff into each other and package it sanely (as opposed to researchers just throwing papers out or “entrepeneurs” making shome shitty closed cloud UI), some better hardware support, and you’re already there with no new models/tech.
Filters on online platforms are surprisingly effective, though. CivitAI is begging for it, and they’ve kept it out.
Theoretically? Maybe.
There are already networks to generate depth maps out of 2D video, so hooking up the output to that and a simpler VR video encoder should probably work.
Will it be jank as hell? Oh yeah. Nothing is conveniently packaged in Local AI Land, unfortunately.
1.4B should be surprisingly doable, especially once quantization/optimized kernels are figured out.
HunyuanVideo can already run on a 12GB desktop 3060.
See the notebookcheck page above.
That’s a great idea.
Honestly it would be amazing if the US had the same thing.
even Republicans favor supporting Ukraine
Not anymore:

Views on Ukraine are far less favorable for Republicans than Democrats already, views of Russia more positive among Republicans. And I promise you, that difference is getting more dramatic soon. Other articles note this is a dramatic shift from last year.
I hope you are right, but propaganda is powerful, and I suspect the same kind of populism could absolutely take off in the EU.
Unfortunately, fans are cheering Trump on in social media about this. Bots or not, they’re getting a lot of views.
Don’t think people in the EU or whatever aren’t cheering this, either. Trump can and will happen elsewhere, too.
This is achievable if we tax the rich and companies fairly. Of course every single major political party is against this as they are all in the pockets of the upper class and corporations to varying degrees.
Sorry, but this is a fantasy.
The mega rich should be taxed, but war is expensive and hard, and that alone isn’t enough. Europeans are going to have to want to resist Russia with money out of their pockets/a little hardship, otherwise they are going to be pissed when taxes go up. Then they run to AfD and such, like they already are.
Or debt could balloon, I guess, but fortunately the EU is smart enough to be wary of this (unlike the US).
I dunno how to give Europeans existential reasons to support Ukraine, but clamping down on Twitter/Facebook is definitely a start.
This ^
If they don’t, Russia is going to gleefully send the EU down the path of the United States and make it politically dysfunctional, and its states aren’t so legally bound to stay whole like the US. Putin may or may not declare war, but if he isn’t beaten back and humiliated, the EU is over.
It’s engaging, though.
If it draws eyeballs, Reddit admins are happy with it, long term health be damned. That’s someone else’s problem, once they exit with a truck of cash.
Yeah, well, US support was astronomical and bipartisan. We weren’t exactly fond of Russia. And now a good chunk of the country is nodding their heads when Zelensky is called a “comedian clown” and assert the war is Ukraine’s fault.
I’m just saying, social media and propaganda is powerful, and the EU has not learned from US (or Russia) if they are taking Ukraine support for granted, especially if things escalate.
Are Europeans on board though? AfD and such are gaining ground.
Just saying, I think the EU needs to worry about its own house, too.
And in social media comments, people are cheering Trump on, like we finally get to see the “real” Zelensky.
…I am so ashamed of my country. Even if it’s a minority, we’ve platformed this kind of thing and swallowed the hook.

Anime/semi-real style is already shockingly good.
