Is this subreddit just like US military hate or what’s the point of it. All I usually see is memes about how US bad or Lockheed this.

And why do we hate the US? Is it because of the orange man?

I’ll be serious for a sec to dispell any misconceptions here about our community. NCD is not anti US military. We’re sad that lockmart is suffering because of shitty policy, but we’re excited for the rise of European, Japanese, Australian MICs.

No worries. Yea probably past that point in my life where I want to continue to read about stressful or controversial topics. I’ll just go ahead and bow out as these really are not conversations I’m interested in. That and I haven’t exactly received warm welcomes from many of the Lemmy communities.

Sub has always been pro democracy through power. Seeing as there’s now a monarch in the White House, the US Royal Army needs to be resisted

Australia actually has a fairly robust naval shipbuilding industry in Adelaide, and an established armoured vehicle industry in the east, building bushmasters and Hawkies.

A fair amount of drones and counter-drone systems too.

I understand our defence industry revolves mostly around producing totally not US requirement under licence to get around ITAR.

    Vegemite?
Couldn’t we just go for nuclear tipped ICBMs like civilized people?
    We’re not animals.

Seeing how he’s cutting off support for right wing cookers at the knees, best thing to happen to western democracy.

Yeah I know the current admin is being total tools but I’m glad the EU and AU are finally thinking of defense without guarantees of US help.

Many US mil leaders have said that they want their allies to be ready to handle themselves because the US could find itself focusing on a different area of the globe

The deadliest continent builds the deadliest stuff, we’re emerging from the Mandela effect multiverse and realigning with a fun one!
