I’m just sick of toxic masculine behavior. It’s just so extremely common. I’ve gotten to the point of being unconformable calling myself a man for fear of association.

Bacteria and fungi do respirate but they don’t necessarily have organelles. So depends on how you use the term “breath”. I think viruses mostly rely on the host cell’s preexisting homeostasis.
Switching jobs or self employment misses the point and fails to resolve the issue of obligation on grounds of survival. Living on the street isn’t exactly a solution either.
I think the argument is that the 9-5 is torturous by a particularly direct comparison to sysiphus. Granted, most work is easier than pushing a boulder, but just as life stealing.
all philosophy will sound bad if you imagine the worst possible case scenario it could apply to

I love doing a good job and completing a project. Those moments are wonderful and i cherish them deeply but they’re fleeting. The obligation to have and maintain a career for survival is the issue. I like the work i do, i loath that i have to do it.
Yeah but videogames can actually be fun for a while. I suspect work would be far more bearable if everything could be completed. I would be much happier if I didn’t need a job to survive or have a decent standard of living.
The implementation of AI is an effort by those wealthies to increase the class divide and consolidate power. They see value in it beyond profits. It’s about omniscience and control. They just wrap it in what they think is a desirable package for the common folk and push it as though it’s a breakthrough technology (it’s not).
Self driving is just a dream that they won’t have to see a chauffer or God forbid take public transit and sit next to a plebian.
I guess i still work on the assumption anything over 200k a year is hyperbolic…idk
Do i really need to edit and add the /s?
I can’t tell if they posted his income to say he is paid too much or too little… It’s a weird thing to include, it didn’t seem to fit the article at all.
Poor guy getting shot at and doesn’t even make a million a year. Absolute tragedy.
Clearly. Sentience would imply some sense of internal thought or self awareness, an ability to feel something …so LLMs are better since they’re just machines. Though I’m sure they’d have no qualms with driving slaves.
Arguably the point of having machines do the work for us is that they’re NOT sentient.
It’s just so frustrating seeing it after learning. It’s like a defensive response against the inner experience of others so that you don’t need to challenge your own. Like FFS i don’t need advice from someone who doesn’t have their own stuff handled. I need empathy, and they can’t give it because they’ve never learned how to suspend disbelief and view the world from a challenged perspective. I used to be there too because i was raised in the same world. I understand the how; how could they know when they’ve been taught their whole life to fight against it? I just feel hopeless about it ig.
