Asking the eugenics advocate nazi to use nicer words about disabled people is kind of pointless considering he’d probably kill them if he could.
This should be a condemnation letter, it rubs me the wrong way that this is titled as such a defanged “please stop.”
don’t even need an hour. “herb” has multiple regional pronunciations and so can receive both treatments depending on the context.
also my original comment was just wrong i don’t even know how i got to the point of writing that. “an hour” is the standard treatment of words starting with vowel sounds—the letters themselves don’t matter.
but “h” is treated as a consonant. which it is. duh. i feel so dumb lol.
Don’t forget that ‘h’ is an exception and counts as a vowel: “a hat”
edit literally i am wrong about this why did i write that
perhaps because russia initiated a ukranian invasion on february 24 2022.
noooo! minecraft steve do not reinvent racism!
i read this to the the tune of that billie eilish cover
ah i see. this was an email, not a twitter thing though, per the article:
The email, sent from the Office of Personnel Management and shared with NBC News, asked employees to send approximately five bullet points listing what they accomplished this week, cc’ing their managers. The email requested that employees not send any classified information, links or attachments and said employees must respond by a deadline of Monday at 11:59 p.m. ET. src

ooh its always so interesting to come across these. writing clear and effective english is a learned skill that isn’t the same as writing “correct” english. the author seems to rely heavily on indirect and passive phrases and poor preposition use which leads to a wandering feeling:
here’s the same quote, “fixed”:
it’s possible english isn’t the author’s first language, or they simply don’t have the communications education you are used to seeing in journalism. at least you know it’s not ai though :)
