Definitely profits first. I recall they hit the news because some manager said they would consider a mouse subscription service if it was possible.
They fully went on the embargo list after that one.

It’s actually worse than that. Some Supers clock in at base, some Tis perform better than Super Tis, it’s just a shitshow of actual compute performance. How they manage to avoid false advertising claims is of much fascination to me.
Oddly enough, if you look at the inflated street prices, they are pretty slavishly aligned to real performance of the cards lol.
The fact they kept selling their flagship mouse with usb micro was appalling. And I think the only reason they moved to usbc was because of the EU. For a $200 mouse 🙄
Same lol. Upgraded my TV, gaming PC in Dec/Jan. Even then it was a gong show.
Literally no one knows how tariffs work 🤦♂️
Here’s the thing. Consoles are like gym memberships. Once you get signed up by buying a highly subsidized console, then the charges start racking up. Premium prices. Locked into a singular store, slave to their sales and predatory practices. Every game inflated to cover the console. They squeeze and squeeze. Because the spice must flow.
PCs give you the luxury of better directing your cash in the long run. Not to mention serve a larger purpose and provide a broader depth of gaming.
There are going to be myriad ways companies will try to avoid it even if all that means relabeling items or classifying them as something not on the list.
It’s going to be a shit show.
And I’m still coming off the pandemic ffs, can we just chill for like 5 mins.
Not this one. This one’s about smugglers!
Yeah this is a masterclass in design 👍
I’m pretty sure that’s due to rare earth metals and China. All I know is it likely won’t be a blanket increase like most think.
So far no, it doesn’t look like it. No one wants anything to do with hiking prices and less to do with the US.
Depends how they import products. Canada uses a lot of layaways in the US during shipping. There are also big ports in Alaska that are landing spots for items set to enter Canada.
If those are hit, then they will pass those increases to Canadians.
It’s going to be key now to cull the US. But I’m seeing HUGE increases in US only pricing. So yeah, not a good start for that shit hole.
Kill off all the Supers and Tis. Merge them all into 3 groups.
Nova huh. Because it will need the concentrated power of the sun to just fall behind AMD’s chips from 2022?
Talk to Nike. They copyrighted the name of a God. From centuries ago.
Who said anything about nukes? Other than you, Mr. Military Genius here hanging around Lemmy.
Take off hoser!
Finally. I can listen to Bloody Tears as it was meant to be listened to!
Tell me again why we don’t own Alaska 🤦♂️
It’s hard to be aware when most everything in Canada has basically been sold to the US by the greedy. I mean the last shred of our heritage is the French on the packaging. If it weren’t for that, you could never tell between products from either nation.
Hockey? We have like 3 teams left in the NHL. Superman? He’s American now. Alaska, which is the landing point for a staggering amount of goods coming into Canada, American now too. Tim Hortons? American.
We sold our heritage long ago. You can say whatever you want to farm karma but the sad reality is we basically are the 51st state. And as mad as Canadians get hearing that, especially now (I loath Trump and have always had a tenuous opinion of the US), it’s the sad truth.
And if you’re hoping for Carney to make this place great, he won’t. The whole “we are building a better world” is the biggest lie told because people have long realized you die. Legacy or not. No one wants to spends their lives in agony so three generations down will get it easy. That’s a hackneyed trope for a sci fi movie, nothing more.
A gross oversimplification. Yay!
