help-circle

  • You post a wide range of other peoples content and links from other places.

Um, dude, I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what Lemmy and Reddit are. They are a category of social media called “Link Aggregators”, posting links to stuff is what you’re supposed to do. News, articles, projects, blog posts, GitHub repos, random one off websites, YT/PT videos etc doesn’t matter who made it. What matters is you think it’s cool or at least think others will find it cool and you post it. That’s it.

You’re overthinking it way too much

“Republicans bad, gib upvotes now plzzzz” garbage.

Again, that’s just been the last week or so and specific to !conservative@lemmy.world because that’s what it’s trending towards as a comm.

Who gives a shit about upvotes dude. Getting lots of fake Internet points isn’t gonna get you any closer to being loved by your parents.

1, it’s not currency, but it’s not entirely useless. It’s good for some metrics to judge how well something you post is being received. Not the best metric, but…it’s the one we got lmao. And 2, there it is again the “judgy aggression”

Some of my highest upvoted posts had nothing to do with politics at all and were handmade

As far as reposting in general, I’ll leave you with this:

In one of your comments you stated “I know everything on the internet isn’t just for me”, but it doesn’t seem like you’re taking that to heart

  • You don’t pay as much attention as you think you do lol I post a wide range of content, in fact some of your most upvoted comments have been on my posts.

    !lemmyshitpost@lemmy.world is just that, shitposts.

What I’ve been posting to !conservative@lemmy.world lately is part of the humor

Reading through a bit of your profile you seem rather judgemental of others’. Even passing judgement on what someone else needs therapy for? Like, seriously? Your insistance on the use of the “r-word”?

There are at least some people who enjoy what I post otherwise I wouldn’t be upvote-positive for most posts and comments. You’ve been here long enough to know what happens to content that isn’t at least a little welcome.

I find this…obsession…with my posting routine kinda weird bro, the fact that Lemmy doesn’t have a built-in easily accessible way to pull that kind of data means you probably had to manually do it or write a script. Both of those options are far worse than someone posting a lot.

And your observations are flawed, how long do you think it takes to post something? I’m not spending hours handcrafting artisan shitposts over here lmao, yea it’s probably 4 in an hour, but I can hit that in like <5 minutes depending on what I’m posting.

So I’m making 4 posts on a 5 minute break at the top of every hour, oh the horror!

It’s not 1999 anymore, we have these little boxes now called “smartphones” that allow one to go online and offline again instantaneously and they even deliver these handy dandy messages called “notifications” whenever something happens in the online worlds you’re connected to.

Like when an angry person comments on one of your posts angry that you have the audacity to try and post a lot to the Lemmy-verse to help it grow, be a part of the small niche online community we enjoy and just generally not wanting to be a lurker.

If you must know, it’s a healthy mixture of OC, articles and crossposts
