I’d take the job, if I know it will not be forever, just a short time. Not enough money to be unemployed, that is terrifying.

If money was not an issue? I can certainly stay busy without paid employment. I work for money, that is the whole reason I have a job.

I’ve always cooked on radiant electric (not induction) stoves, but gas stoves are amazing. Literal fire just works like nothing else. Faster cooking != Better cooking, why are you conflating them?

I’ve never lived in a closed up efficient new house either, those seem like anything you cook would be problematic. All cooking releases something.

Will almost certainly stick with electric personally (whole house is electric only) but if I had an unlimited budget it would be gas stove, big whomping vent fan, and ovens with both steam and fan.

Induction worries me because we had an induction plate and it made a terrifying shrill noise, I worry that the high end ones do the same but we can’t hear it. Which seems awful for the dogs and cats.

I want to live here in the US in Florida, but in the timeline where Al Gore actually got all the votes counted and won. We are in “uptown” of a mid size city and it’s awesome, I don’t like living in the country but having a yard and garden is nice, and I don’t need to drive much as we are close to many amenities.

City would be my second choice, I do enjoy living in a city, walking to bar or grocery, everything right there and so much to do.

That’s Hillsborough County not Tampa the city, that goes Republican. We are pretty progressive inside the city but the sprawling county has enough people to drown us out.

We have a vibrant and sometimes political teams chat at my work, we would be toast if we were taken over by the magas. Yes we know it’s not private and do have also a group text. But haven’t ever worried since the whole organization is laid back regarding language and expression.

If I worked for the government? Hell no. No teams chat, not even “how was your weekend?” Nope nope nope.
