The number of times I have heard conservative radio hosts saying “we need to cut these costs to get the deficit down” while ignoring that cutting taxes decreases the revenue we are supposedly using to pay for those things is nuts.

-2+4.5= a negative number to them somehow. Instead of you know… Not lowering the taxes and cutting 2 and actually having a negative number. Then maybe I could make sense of their logic. But nope it’s just cut everything and still lose money as our basic functionality grinds to a halt and people get sick/hurt/die and a whole new generation of things that shouldn’t have got passed regulations arise.

We really are going to need a few good judges after this when rebuilding if we survive. Should be a simple, if there was a regulation on this, and you did it after the regulation was removed and someone got injured, you pay 1000x the amount you would have paid in a fine previously. So a life is around $3m normally. So a $3billion dollar payout per life, and it carries threw bankruptcy and to any other company the executives ever go to.

In the 90s they had a program called Book It and basically if you were reading books you would qualify to get a coupon at school for a free personal pan pizza meal or something. My mother would take my brother and I, so it probably cost her $8 for all 3 of us to eat back then.
