Everyone knows you don’t upgrade to a X.0 release. Got to wait for X.1 at least.

Oh god no, unless you live very close then it’s not really suitable for someone else. I was just making a comment about how I don’t want Android TV or off the shelf smart TV crap either.
I tend to explain what it is, and what is the important part. Thinking about it from the perspective of what someone might need to know while also respecting their time. I think “Screen shot of Lemmy post feed with nav bar at top, first post says “blah”, second post says “blah blah”, third post says…”, I think that’s too much unnecessary detail. So I’d do something like “Screen shot of Lemmy post feed, showing the third post called “Blah blah” has a green highlight over the first word” or whatever the message is I’m trying to get across with the screenshot.
I don’t know if there is etiquette or a specific format but I would write as much as is needed to convey the reason you’re including the image (whether that is a sentence or 100 words), striking a balance between making sure someone who is relying on the alt text can understand everything they need to know while also respecting their time.
Honestly this just sounds like they sent her the Android TV version.
I get weird looks when I tell people I don’t want a smart TV and just strap a laptop to the back of our decade+ old dumb TV. But I have a PC-connected remote and run Kodi, it’s so much nicer than the stuff other people have.
Ah I see how that could work. The stations have wifi or mobile network, then Google Location Services uses that to pinpoint to the station. You will at the very least know the location of the defect to between two specific stations. Then you can use the other sensors to narrow it down.
How well does location tracking work underground?
I am generally a fan because it does allow for less time and money spent on elections but I do see the value in a shorter term. I don’t quite get the whole thing about having 3 year terms if the select committee isn’t set up a certain way though. Very confusing.
Because of the DRM free nature of GOG, you do not have to use their GOG Galaxy client.
You could use a different client (like Heroic) or you could just download the games straight from the GOG website.
The beautiful thing about decentralisation is that if an instance tries to as ads, then you can go to a different instance and see the same content.
If an instance creates as posts, your instance admin can block the whole instance.
Interestingly, the big instances seem to easily get enough donations to cover costs. I think that’s the great thing about this model, people are willing to donate when they know it’s not some big corporate making profit for shareholders.
That’s pretty crazy. I can imaging that call saying a dolphin jumped in their boat was probably a pretty unique day for the radio operator and DOC ranger as well.
