The situation with the Blackwell GPUs was already fascinating as it basically screwed OpenAI and everyone propping their stock prices with OpenAI’s products. Then Deepseek hit the scene.

OpenAI is hemorrhaging money. How are they going to raise the capital needed for these new chips? Who wants to pay for OpenAI’s products when Deepseek is free and runs great on older GPUs?

After the initial purchase, the Blackwell chips will cost even more time and money to train and use, so just more sunk costs for OpenAI.

Is the AI bubble even going to last long enough for these Blackwells to hit the market?
