The Last of Us showrunners have since suggested that they wanted Joel’s murder to occur early on in the season as they didn’t want it to drag out for fans of the video games who already knew what was to come.
It seems early to judge and get angry about this, being only 2 episodes into the season. None of the events in the show would prevent the scene from happening. Sounds like people are just upset it’s not happening when they thought it would happen.
