I have to respectfully disagree, if you took all Obama’s 2008 policies and replaced Obama with someone with none of Obama’s stage presence, charisma, and skills as an orator, they would have lost.

I think you way overestimate how class conscious the US population is. Even the people with some class consciousness go picking the wrong fights anyway.
