MJ12 Detachment Agent
Cool to see Bazzite open their own FlatPak storefront.
Gunman Chronicles launched on November 21, 2000, and received mixed reviews from critics, which is still a sore point with Flower. “When you see reviews and they’re like, ‘Oh, this game is too much like Half-Life!’ And you’re like, ‘What, the best game that you ever rated? Too much like that, huh?’” The game sold relatively well, although Flower says he “didn’t get rich” off his cut. “I probably could have made as much money painting cars, as far as take-home money. But royalties are taxed at a lower rate, so it spent pretty good.”
On one hand, it’s already huge success that your game is being compared to HL1, on the other hand, that’s one tough competitor.
Moddb? I use them as well.
Best to move off nexusmods now that it’s owned by people with no interest in gaming or mods.
You could always wait for a Steam sale for PC2 and enjoy PC1 for now. :)
The movie is OK, it’s by no means bad, but I personally think it’s a little bit overrated as a cult classic (just a bit).
The concept with a theme park on Mars with humans as attractions is very neat (and I play my city-builders and business sims in an utopian style).
ESP32 seems a bit too weak for both full x86 emulation and running Windows XP. From memory, XP didn’t run well on anything less than 500 MHz (quick web search suggests official minimum CPU requirements on release was 233 MHz). I can’t imagine Windows XP on a 233 MHz P2 was a good experience.
This seems more like a PR/engagement move.
I will add that the developer seems rather savvy in terms of pre-release promotion, their videos always get a lot of views and engagement.
Seems like a pointless exercise.
If anything, it would be more interesting to run a full x86 emulator to install Windows 98 / Windows XP to run older games. There are games that work better on native Windows 98 than via compatibility mode on W10.
The gzdoom version looks good and feels great as well.
Laptops (and desktops) with no GPUs will become increasingly viable not just for older games. This was a general comment. :)
The huge amount of demos I have been downloading lately is your fault (facetious)
😆
Modern high end iGPUs (e.g. AMD Strix Halo) are going to start replacing dGPUs in the entry and mid-range segments.
The Steam page for Bread & Fred says:
Bread & Fred is a challenging co-op platformer from Apogee
The piles of dead Peter Griffins are hilarious.
Treasure Planet is a pretty solid animated movie.
Reminds me a little bit of Diluvian Winds. The 2D perspective of the hotel building/management is similar and they both have nice hand drawn graphics.
Good find. The game itself seemed to looked fine from a gameplay perspective (sure they use store bough assets, but that’s common). But the thread does raise a lot of red flags.
Not a city-builder in the classical sense, but you do have to manage a colonization program that includes city demand provision, waste management and inter-city logistics.
Plan B: Teraform.
I see. Well good luck!
