Man, I’d be so effing smart if I never forgot all the stuff I learn during those random bursts of energy.

There is no thing such as useless knowledge. All knowledge is useful for a purpose

Not all knowledge is inherently useful; some knowledge may lack practical application, relevance, or purpose, especially within certain contexts or timeframes.

Not all knowledge has application, the human mind has bandwidth limitations (ignoring capacity), knowledge is contextually sensitive, and some knowledge is actively harmful (e.g. misinformation, distraction).

Is that an ASD thing or an ADHD thing?

Because I know my ASD relatives are more like “I CRAVE VERY SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THIS THING and will forget everything else (not actually true - they seem to remember just not when they don’t care to)”

and with my ADHD it’s definitely the “I NEED MOOOOOOAR” combined with no recollection that isn’t intuitive.

But my AuADHD friends are definitely more “I WILL KNOW ALL about RECENT SPECIAL INTEREST, and honestly I probably remember other stuff I just don’t have the energy to remember it right now.”

Well you might be right. I interpreted the “i forgor” phase as when the depression or crisis hits and I suddenly don’t have the energy even to research about my special interest
