Summary
A measles outbreak in West Texas, centered in Gaines County, has infected 146 people, hospitalized 20, and killed one child.
The virus may have spread to Central Texas and New Mexico after an infected person visited public places in San Antonio.
Most cases involve unvaccinated children, with a local vaccine exemption rate nearing 18%. Health officials expect more infections but are offering free testing and vaccines.
The CDC is assisting Texas authorities, emphasizing that vaccination remains the best protection against the highly contagious disease.
The one thing I never see mentioned in all these updates is just how awful it is for anyone that gets it. Like why not let them know exactly how bad it is for you? If you read this article and know nothing I wouldn’t necessarily know that it’s any worse than say getting the flu… I feel like the best bet at this point is to show the suffering to scare people into caving if that’s what it takes.
Avoiding that 5g is worth the child’s suffering.
I want to laugh at these people for subjecting their kids to a completely preventable disease, but it’s not the fault of the child. I hope that the suffering the children go through will convince others to get their jabs, but even that is a politically charged statement nowadays. It’s just sad.
