I originally wasn’t planning on staring another game, but today I went by my local game store, and managed to snag a copy of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and a copy of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception for $10 after talking with the owner and couldn’t help myself. Both of them are only slightly used, and come with the original case and the manual. So I like to think I got a pretty good deal:

Moving on from that though, this was the only Uncharted game I’m not sure if I beat it or not. I keep remembering some bits, but I’m not sure if I played it all the way through when I first played the Nathan Drake collection. Hell, I may just be remembering a YouTube video instead of actual gameplay.

For a PS3 game it looks really good, at least on my screen. Maybe it’s just because it’s a cheap 720p screen and it’s not being upscale by the TV to 4k, but even then I feel like it’s at this point you can really tell that Naughty Dog was starting to get the hang of the PS3’s hardware.

From what I’ve seen the original The Last of Us is like that too, but I’ve been saving that to play on the PC version, or at least I want too. I haven’t heard anyone PS3 is superior to PC (or the other way around) so I figured if I’m going to play it I may as well play it with all the fancy bells and whistles.

Speaking of the last of us, from what I’ve heard repeated on the internet, apparently the bar in the opening is mostly the same as a bar in The Last of Us too. Though I’ve seen people say it’s meant to be the same bar while others say it’s just a reference.

It really feels like Naughty Dog got the gameplay down here too. I think 4 perfected it, but 3 seems to have laid a lot of the groundwork in my opinion. It feels a lot cleaner and more high action. The above screenshot is from a section where you’re running along the rooftops to escape from some guards. The whole section felt really tense but also not like it was throwing obstacle after obstacle at you (an issue I felt like the 1st game had).

Difficulty also feels a bit toned down. In Uncharted 1 it felt like enemies could shoot you easily through walls despite being in cover. Here it feels like it s a bit more fair, which I appreciate.
