Summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has paused billions in contract cuts after backlash from lawmakers and veterans’ groups over potential harm to critical services.

The cuts, praised by Elon Musk and framed as eliminating wasteful consulting fees, included contracts affecting cancer care, toxic exposure assessments, and disability evaluations.

Facing bipartisan criticism, VA officials insist veterans’ care won’t suffer but acknowledge an ongoing review.

Advocates warn that stripping funding from key services could cause delays and denials, urging transparency on affected contracts and potential consequences.

Or to show the ones you’re training now how you plan to take care of them when they lose physical ability and mental/emotional fortitude as a direct result of the horrors they will commit and and be subjected to. Amazing that young people can see the way vets are being treated and then still be stoked to join up

As a US Army Veteran, and as a registered voter, I can tell you right now that I voted for people who support VA Care, and VA benefits because I support our troops, even if I don’t support military action in all circumstances. But also, I believe that Musk should go fuck himself.

    Thanks.
