Framework has just announced an ortholinear keyboard for their Framework 16 laptop. It looks like it would be easy to develop any layout with it, as each key is a separate module.

Here is the timecode: https://youtube.com/watch?v=dnCGwii7FqY&t=630

When the keyboard becomes both columnar/ortholinear (AKA: keys are in up/down straight lines) and when it also becomes staggered (AKA: each column is ,moved up or down slightly so it matches the length of your fingers), then I am buying a framework so hard.

They’re releasing individual switches, so only a matter of time before someone makes one. It’ll have to be one row shorter though for the layout to fit the space.

Kinda remarkable that they are the first to do such a thing… it’s like they actually care, and are bold enough to experiment.

I was just looking for if they made one! was disapointed, but I guess I just needed to wait a day.
